To kick off Stroll weekend, we are to delighted to host a hands-on baking class with visiting Pastry Chef, Amanda Baker. Participants will learn how to make the dough and the pastry cream as well as how to decorate the tart. Everyone will leave with their own fruit tart at the end of class.
About the class:
Aprons will be provided to wear during the class. We recommend closed toes shoes and long hair pulled back in the kitchen. This class is open to all ages and abilities. Limited to 12 people.
Amanda has worked as the Pastry Chef at Cru (Nantucket) for the past 2 summers. In addition, she has developed and taught the kids class program at Nantucket Culinary the past 2 summers. Currently, she resides on Cape Cod.
Amanda graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI and has been working in the pastry field for the last fifteen years. She has worked throughout Boston and Cambridge including Creme Cafe and State Street Provisions. She has also taught children's classes and adult education classes at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.
