Every day, three times a day we turn to food to nourish our bodies, but what if we could fine tune the menu to include meals that will help heal our bodies too. Come sit with us in the demonstration kitchen to learn how food can be the medicine our body needs to find it’s way back to healthy. Chef Ros Hatch and Chef Sky Wallace will spend the evening preparing golden milk using turmeric and almonds, crackers from the nut pulp, mini carrot banana muffins and wild salmon cakes for everyone to try.
What to Expect: In this Food as Medicine interactive demonstration, Ros Hatch and Sky Wallace will help participants understand the health benefits that certain foods can provide the body.
Ros Hatch is a personal chef who specializes in crafting delicious, nutrient-rich meals. As a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the New School of Cooking in Los Angeles, CA, Ros has developed a passion for farm-to-table tastes. It is Ros' mission to prepare and serve wholesome meals bursting with flavor and good health, as well as create excitement for healthful, flavorful food.
Sky Wallace specializes in gluten free, clean eating, meal preparation and is an essential part of the Nantucket Culinary Center team. She began her career with gluten free cooking and baking when she discovered that she and her son were experiencing gluten intolerances. At the time there were very few palatable gluten free options in the supermarket, let alone coffee shops and bakeries. This new challenge turned into her greatest opportunity and has allowed her to share her knowledge with others through preparing delicious, gluten-free, family friendly meals.
